ROAD TRAVEL
Traveling to Playa Masapa will take about 1:45 minutes from Managua Airport (MGA) with no traffic. If you travel mid day you will likely encounter about 15 – 30 minutes of delay due to traffic passing through Managua. From there its clear sailing. You would be well advised to drive with a Truck or All Terrain Vehicle as the last section of road to reach Masapa is a dirt road. See our video below to see for yourself what to expect.
TAXI
A Taxi Ride from MGA to Playa Masapa will usually take about 2 hours pending there is no traffic. If you are traveling anytime from 1 pm to 5 pm you can expect the trip may take another 20 – 30 minutes due to Managua traffic.
Generally, if you get a Taxi from the airport expect to pay over $300.
